WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Plans are being made to beautify River Road in West Lafayette.

The Wabash River Enhancement Corporation received $50,367 in grant money from the National Scenic Byway fund. The money will be used to make a management plan to improve River Road, which is a Scenic Byway.

Wabash River Enhancement Corporation executive director Stan Lambert said the money will help develop a plan of action for future improvements on River Road.

"It'll help us in laying out and planning a trial system along the byway. It will help govern how the byway or corridor that includes the byway is developed so we make sure we retain the scenic nature that currently exists along the scenic byway route," he said.

The management plan's total cost is nearly $63,000 and the enhancement corporation will fund the extra money that is needed.
