CHATTNOOGA, Tenn. (WLFI) - Purdue women's basketball advanced to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament by defeating North Carolina 85-70 in a second-round NCAA Tournament matchup Monday, March 23 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton had a huge game for the victorious Boilermakers, scoring 18 points, grabbing eight rebounds, dishing out six assists, and blocking four shots.
Attica native Brittany Rayburn added 18 points for the Boilers. Ki-Ki Freeman chipped in 16 points while Danielle Campbell and FahKara Malone tallied 12 points each.
The Boilermakers had been eliminated by the Tar Heels in the 2006 and 2007 NCAA Tourneys.
Purdue will face Rutgers Sunday, March 29 in a regional semifinal game in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
