WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It seems this week’s record-setting Powerball is feeding on itself – with more people buying tickets, the jackpot increases. And as the jackpot increases, more Hoosiers think they’ll get lucky and buy tickets.
Multi-State Lottery Association (MUSL) officials have raised Wednesday night’s Powerball jackpot estimate to $550 million, up from $500 million earlier in the day.
The cash option is $360.2 million.
You have until 9:58 p.m. Eastern Wednesday to purchase tickets and get your shot at the biggest Powerball jackpot in history.
$550 million is the second-largest lottery jackpot ever in North America. The No. 1 jackpot was the Mega Millions jackpot in March.
