INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (WLFI) - A bill that would permanently ban the sale of K2 Spice in Indiana is one step closer to becoming law.
The bill passed out of a committee Wednesday by an 11 to zero vote. Republican State Senator Ron Alting authored the bill. K2 Spice is already banned locally in Tippecanoe County, but this would ban the substance throughout Indiana.
The bill has seen bi-partisan support from local lawmakers such as Democratic State Representative Sheila Klinker and Republican State Representative Randy Truitt.
If passed, it would be illegal to possess, sell, or manufacture K2 Spice mixtures, which are often used to get a high similar to marijuana.
The bill now heads to the House floor before Governor Mitch Daniels can sign it.
