INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Gov. Mike Pence is expected to detail his plans for taking Indiana from "good to great" in his first major policy speech.
Pence will deliver his State of the State address Tuesday night at the Statehouse. It comes one week after he delivered a brief inauguration speech which stuck with much of the broad rhetoric he relied on during the campaign.
Pence has declined to talk specifically about his first-year agenda in an effort not to upstage himself Tuesday. But many of the details of how he will improve jobs training and education are already circulating through the Statehouse.
Lawmakers have been tasked by the Pence team with carrying proposals to establish regional job training councils, expanded access to school vouchers and a "loser pays" tort reform measure.
