Owner: Rescued horse is doing fine

VIGO COUNTY, Ind. (WTHI) - A Vigo County horse owner is happy that his horse made it through a dangerous situation.

News 10 got a chance to meet Payton. She's a blind horse who had quite an adventure on Sunday. She wandered away from her owner's property in Pimento, and wound up falling into a nearby swimming pool that was covered.

Vigo County Sheriff's Deputies were able to get her out. She suffered minor injuries.
News 10 caught up with the owner on Monday, Bryce Vilchuck. He said his horse is doing fine. He was told by a veterinarian to keep Payton under close observation for a few days while she recovers.

"I can only thank the homeowner and the sheriff's department for the energies they put in, and I'm very appreciative and very thankful there's a positive outcome," Vilchuck said.
