WINAMAC, Ind. - The rain has stopped, but people living along the Tippecanoe
River are still watching the water closely.
Pulaski County has declared a disaster because of the flooding.
More than 50 homes have been evacuated.

Emergency Management Director Larry Hoover said the rising water
is comparable to last year's historic floods.
Scott Roudebush, a long-time Winamac Resident, said he is
keeping a close eye on his sister's home as the water comes within
inches of entering her home.
"Well, my sister lives in this house right back here and she's
in it right now," he said. "I think she should be ok but it will be
close if the water gets into the house."
Roudebush said if the water does go into his sister's home
she will leave and go to higher ground. Hoover said the river is
expected to crest Saturday at more than 15.2 feet.
