Purdue trustees approve 2 new buildings

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Purdue University approved plans for two new building projects beginning next year.

The board of trustees voted to move forward on construction of phase one of the Herrick Laboratory Replacement project. The $23.5 million plan includes living laboratory space as well as vibration, electromechanical, and thermal systems laboratories. $12.6 million will come from federal grants. The rest of the project will be funded by gifts.

The board also approved the $13 million Marriott Hall project which will be used by the Consumer and Family Science's Hospitality and tourism program. It will be funded entirely by gifts to the university.
