The Tippecanoe County Coroner says a person found dead on the
Purdue campus early Tuesday morning died after jumping from one of
the upper floors of the Hawkins Graduate House.
"The cause of death of this individual is preliminarily listed
as multiple blunt force injuries due to high velocity impact with
the ground after jumping from one of the upper floors of the
dormitory," Coroner Donna Avolt said in a news release issued
Wednesday morning.
Purdue spokesperson Jeanne Norberg as said fingerprints from a
student believed to be missing are being compared today to those of
the deceased in an attempt to confirm identification.
A university employee found the man's body on the ground outside
the Hawkins Graduate House around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.
