WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Four Tippecanoe County businesses made the state's list of "50 Companies to Watch."
In the basement of the PEFCU Financial Mall, in West Lafayette, sits a computer software company gaining local and national attention.
Passageways, LLC co-founders said the recognition may demonstrate what they've done in the past, but it shows what they will accomplish in the future.
Co-founder and Vice President of Development Paroon Chadha said he is excited.
"Feels like it's a lot of team work that has paid off. Especially excited because we are at a stage in our business plan where we see a lot of future growth as well," said Chadha.
The Indiana Economic Development Corporation recognized small, privately owned businesses with up to 150 employees and between $750,000 to $100 million in annual revenue or working capital.
Passageways employs 25 people.
"Our main business focus is portal solutions. It's an employee productivity software for financial institutions. We have customers all across the country," said Chadha.
The company's other co-founder, Christopher Beltran serves as Vice President of Product Development, which is the Passageways Portal. He said any financial business can benefit from its use.
"We touch everybody from the board of directors to the CEO all the way on down to the tellers. We allow the tellers to build and contribute content in ways that they weren't able to do before," said Beltran.
Another benefit is the portal's chat feature. Beltran said if an employee is at a remote branch with a question, he or she can get an immediate response.
"New initiatives are always going on at the same time. Whether it's a new market, like going into Canada or going into healthcare with hospitals. We're experimenting with going into the Caribbean as well as introducing new products," said Beltran.
Other local companies on the the list are En'Urga Inc., Kylin Therapeutics Inc., and Radian Research, Inc.
