Many Americans will be traveling this Fourth of July holiday weekend. Indiana State Police Sergeant Kim Riley said 150 extra State Police officers will be patrolling area roads. He said officers will be looking for aggressive driving, speeding, and impaired drivers. Riley reminds drivers to leave their egos at home. He said road rage is a big problem on the interstate.
"If you are having problems with a vehicle in front of your or behind you and you just can't seem to shake that person just pull off to the side of the road. Stop in and get yourself a pop, go to the restroom get yourself cooled off them get back in the car with a new attitude and take off again," he said.
Riley said the intestates and highways will be crowded today because many people are taking a long weekend.
"Interstate-65, 74 heading to Indianapolis, 465 is going to busy so the interstates are going to start to get full, people are going to get impatient they are going to want to be there yesterday. Take your time, relax on your trip you'll have a lot better time getting there," he said.
