RENSELAER, Ind. (WLFI) - A man armed with a handgun robbed the Fifth/Third Bank in Rensselaer at 11:39 a.m. Thursday morning.
The man wore sunglasses and had a white scarf covering his face in addition to a baseball cap and a dark colored hooded sweatshirt. He entered the bank, displayed his handgun, and demanded cash.
He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash, and no one at the bank was harmed. The direction he traveled after leaving the bank is unknown and there is no description available of any vehicle he may have traveled in.
The Rensselaer Police, Jasper County Sheriff, Indiana State Police and the FBI have responded to the bank and are attempting to locate the suspect and collect evidence. The suspect has not been located at this time and the investigation continues.
