RENSSELAER, Ind. (WLFI) - Michael Loyd Lindsey, 48, is wanted by police as a suspect in multiple recent cases, and according to the Indiana Sex and Violent Offender Registry, he has three different sex-related convictions in Elkhart County, one for child molestation.

Lindsey is a suspect in an attempted carjacking that took place near Rensselaer, IN on the morning of Feb. 27, as well as two attempted abductions and one successful abductions that took place on Feb. 24 in Mishawaka, IN. The 19-year-old girl Lindsey abducted was released near Wolcott, IN later on in the same day she was captured.

In May of 1983, Lindsey was sentenced to 50 years in prison for a child molestiation conviction.

He was sentenced to serve a total of 60 years in prison for a two rape convictions in January of 1983.

The Indiana Sex Offender Registry states Lindsey must notify authorities of his whereabouts for the rest of his life.

Police have yet to apprehend Lindsey. To report anything suspicious, contact the Jasper County Sheriff's Department at 219-866-7344.
