Lafayette, IN - Three counties in our viewing area remain without power since
Thursday night. Power is still out in Jasper, Cass and Newton
Counties. The Jasper County Sheriff's Department reported spotted
outages throughout the county. The Jasper County REMC is still
working to restore power lost during the ice storm on Friday.
Today's high winds have been making the lines "gallop," causing
both outages and public safety issues.
As a result, the Jasper County REMC cannot provide an
estimate time of complete restoration. And if your power is out,
call the utility to report it at (219) 866-4601.
The Newton County Sheriff's Department reported no power in the Roselawn area. Crews from Fulton County REMC are working in northern Cass County. Once that work is complete, Emergency Management Director Alvin Beckman said power will be restored in the entire county.
EMA directors in Benton, Carroll and White Counties reported
restored power over the weekend.
