OXFORD, Ind. (WLFI) - Two Benton Community Schools that were closed Tuesday due to bacteria in the drinking water will remain closed on Wednesday.

Benton Central Junior/Senior High School and Prairie Crossing Elementary School will be closed again on Wednesday. Superintendent Ross Sloat said the drinking water at the two schools tested positive for bacteria during routine tests last Friday.

Sloat also said workers will start sterilizing the entire water system at the schools through Saturday.

Tonight's high school boys basketball game between Benton Central and Frontier is canceled, but tonight's basketball game between Prairie Crossing and Pine Village Elementary Schools is at Pine Village and will be played.

Otterbein and Boswell Elementary Schools will still have classes Wednesday.
