MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - Those looking for jobs may be able to find a new opportunity come August.
Congressman Steve Buyer has announced his 10th Hoosier Job Fair, this one to be held in Monticello at Twin Lakes High School.
State Senator Brandt Hershman and State Representative Don Lehe are co-hosting the event. Buyer, Hershman and Lehe are hopeful that during difficult economic times the job fair will offer many new opportunities.
"I encourage anyone attending this event to come with your resumes," said Buyer. "And what's so unique about this is as opposed to sitting at home, is here you can come and talk. You can see eye to eye with someone who is interested in employing you. So come with your resumes and come well dressed."
"It's a fantastic opportunity for those who are unemployed or under employed, so that you are not getting in the car to drive and find out whether a business is taking applications and you can have that face to face contact with a variety of employers all at one time," said Hershman.
"I think it's very important in Indiana that we get the qualified employees, the well-trained employees together with the people who are looking for those qualified employees. I think that's what this effort will enhance and bring to White County and Indiana," said Lehe.
The job fair will be August 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the gym at Twin Lakes High School in Monticello.
Buyer says his past nine job fairs have offered more than 17,000.
