LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Attorneys for Demorcrat John Polles and the Tippecanoe County Election Board are meeting with a judge Friday to go over provisional ballots cast during Tuesday's election.
Polles currently trails Republican Randy Truitt by 21 votes in the race for State Representative District 26.
On Thursday, attourney Bob Bauman filed a motion in Tippecanoe Circuit Court, asking Judge Don Daniel to order the Election Board to immediately count all ballots in the race.
On Friday, attorneys for both sides agreed to begin the process of identifying which ballots fall under the category of people who claimed to be registered to vote, but who were not on the county's voter registration list. They will count the number of those ballots, and then begin the process of trying to verify a voter's registration.
There will be no ballot counting on Friday. That is expected to take place on November 14.
