LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - More than 100 local painters hit the picket lines after their union and three Lafayette area businesses couldn't agree on a contract.
Painter Robert Bales said members of the Painters and Allied Trades Local Union #80 are picketing outside of Dodds Painting in downtown Lafayette, Bouma-Betten Corporation on Farabee Drive, and Classic Construction in Battle Ground. Bales said the main sticking point is a disagreement on how much the painters will get for medical benefits. He said contract talks will resume tomorrow.
