LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Fairfield Manufacturing has laid off more than 200 employees.
Vice President of Human Relations Jim Mills said they began
notifying employees of the terminations last night.
He says all of the employees will be notified by this
afternoon.
The positions being eliminated are mostly production but some are administrative.
Mills says the layoffs come after a 30% decrease in business.
He says the company was hopeful incoming order rates would increase, but he says the company sees no immediate signs of recovery.
