WLFI employee and DIRECTV customer Rick Prusator lives in Tippecanoe County.
He set up his local stations with a representative over the phone.
"I called 1-800-DIRECTV. I said that I wanted to get the local channels in Lafayette Indiana. They said that it would just magically appear and it took about three days I think after the announcement before I finally got the channels, and they did just appear on channel 18 on the program guide," said Prusator. "We get NBC, CW, CBS and Fox. We do not get ABC so I'll continue to carry at this point, ABC out of New York for the ABC affiliate."
Prusator said he pays about $3.50 extra a month per local channel.
