An exhibit celebrating Asian Pacific American Heritage Month is coming to the Greater Lafayette Museum of Art.

The exhibit entitled "Community" opens Friday, May 22nd and will feature photographs of 30 Asian Americans from Greater Lafayette.

Also on display will be responses given by participants to questions about what it's like to be Asian American.

Curators William Snyder and Kate Van Oosten say the exhibit is designed to promote awareness of the Asian American population within the community.

"There are quite a few Asian Americans here. A lot of people don't see them as much because they do blend into our community very well. They have lots of businesses here. They go to school here. They're a very big part of what our community is all about," said Snyder.

"When people come and read the responses that participants gave they will really get a taste of...and see what the reality is of being Asian American," said Van Oosten.

The exhibit will be on display through June 20th.
