Former Purdue player Carl Landry shot

HOUSTON, Tx. - KHOU-CBS, in Houston, Texas is reporting former Purdue Basketball and Houston Rockets forward Carl Landry was shot in the leg early Tuesday morning.

Rockets Director of Media Relations Nelson Luis said Landry had just flown in from New Orleans and was going to get a bite to eat when he was shot.

It happened around 1:30 a.m. on the morning of March 17.

Luis said Landry was in his car when the bullet grazed his lower leg.

He was treated for a flesh wound and released from Memorial Hermann hospital.

It was unclear how many games Landry might miss as a result of the injury, but Luis said he definitely wouldn’t play Wednesday night.

Carl Landry played at Purdue University from 2004-2007 under Head Coach Gene Keady and Matt Painter.

Landry was instrumental in his senior season at Purdue, leading the team to the second round of the NCAA tournament.

He was drafted 31st by the Seattle SuperSonics and later traded to the Houston Rockets.
