A serious accident in Fountain County sends three people to the hospital, including a small child.
Indiana State Police Trooper, Ted Robertson, says a Ford Ranger was traveling East on U.S. 136 just West of Hillsboro, when the driver somehow lost control, left the roadway and struck a tree.
All three passengers, Jason Coleman, Pamela Smith, and Kaiden Smith, 3, were taken from the scene by PHI helicopters.
Hillsboro Police Officer, Charlie Willis, says all three suffered critical head injuries.
Coleman was taken to St. Claire Medical Center in Crawfordsville, treated, and released.
Pamela Smith was taken to Wishard Hospital and Kaiden taken to Riley Hospital, both in Indianapolis. Pamela Smith was listed as being in fair condition in Wishard's Intensive Care Unit as of the morning of April 2. Kaiden was listed in critical condition at Riley Hospital.
Police are investigating whether Kaiden was properly restrained in the vehicle, and if drugs or alcohol could have been a factor.
