I-65 accident near Frankfort kills two

Third individual hospitalized

FRANKFORT, Ind. (WLFI) - Update: All I-65 Lanes are now reopen.

I-65's northbound lanes are closed just north of the State Road 28 / Frankfort exit due to a fatal accident, and traffic has been redirected onto US 52.

State Police First Sergeant Brian Olehy said two cars were involved in the crash just north of the State Road 28 interchange.

Olehy confirmed the victims are a man and woman who were in the same vehicle.

The man died at the scene.

The woman died later at a Lafayette hospital.

Another person from a second vehicle is being treated at a hospital in Lafayette.

He says one vehicle says one vehicle has an Ohio license plate.

The other has a California license plate.

Northbound traffic is still being diverted onto northbound US 52.
