FLORA, Ind. (WLFI) - Carroll County Sheriff's Department said around 11:30 p.m. Friday a fire broke out in a home at 392 East 100 North in Carroll County.

Police said the owner of the home, Brian Wagoner, woke up to smoke in the home.

Wagoner tried to escape through the front door but it was blocked.  He then tried the garage but had to drive his car through the overhead doors when he was unable to open then.

Wagoner ran next door and called for help.

Police broke out the window of the bottom bedroom where 4-year-old Sophia Wagoner was located, but they were unable to save her. Her brother 7-year-old Harrison Wagoner was also found in his upstairs bedroom. Their mother, Leah Wagoner was also unable to get out of the home and was found in the kitchen.

The fire is still under investigation.
