CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Montgomery County man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for causing the death of a motorcylist.
Floyd Earls, 31, was sentenced in Montgomery Superior Court One, on charges of Reckless Homicide and Operating While Intoxicated Causing Death. Police say on August 14, 2008 Earls was driving at a high rate of speed on South Grant Avenue in Crawfordsville when his pick-up hit the motorcycle of David Baker, 50.
Police say Earls continued driving for another 1000 feet.
Both vehicles caught fire.
Baker was pronounced dead at the scene.
