CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) - A Montgomery County woman is in the hospital tonight after being caught in a house fire.
The fire started just before 8:30 p.m. in a home on County Road 100 West, right behind North Montgomery High School.
Crawfordsville Fire Chief Eric Small says the fire started in the kitchen and was spreading to the second floor when firefighters arrived.
One woman was home, in the kitchen, when the fire started.
She managed to get out, but was taken to Saint Claire Hospital for smoke inhalation.
Small says firefighters were able to get the fire under control in less than 10 minutes.
He estimates about $30 thousand dollars in damage.
Madison Township, Waynetown and Crawfordsville fire department all responded.
