CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind. (WLFI) - Doni Ray Brown, 23, and Timothy Wayne Fletcher, 25, were prisoners in the Putnam County Jail in Florida.
They escaped on April 15 at approximately 4:00 a.m. and, according to the Indiana State Police, authorities believe they may be headed towards the Crawfordsville area. They should be considered armed and dangerous, and the public is advised not to approach them.
Sheriff Jeff Hardy of Putnam County said, "I'm going to go on the record and let people know that these subjects are armed and dangerous. I'm not going to tell you where the weapons came from."
Both are convicted felons and have violent criminal histories, and they have become suspects in a possible homicide.
According to a news release from the Putnam County Sheriff's Office a relative or former relative of Fletcher, Helen Key Googe, 66, was found dead in her home in Palatka, Florida on April 15. The sheriff's office considered her death suspicious.
Details on how the pair escaped from the jail are not being disclosed at this time.
The pair was believed to be traveling in a 2003 red Oldsmobile Alero 4-door as of 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 16, but they have changed vehicles multiple times. One vehicle they used was recovered in Kentucky early on the morning of April 16.
