CARROLL COUNTY, Ind. - Flood waters reached three feet in many of the homes along the Tippecanoe River. Residents like Gary Tedlock and Sara Gregory raised their homes in response to last year's flooding. But they said elevating their homes only spared them some of the damage.
"It didn't bother the house since we had it raised from the last two floods we had. The stuff we had stored from the first two flood was in the garage and it got trashed," said Gary Tedlock.
"It so much work over and over and to have a whole story to our house that we can't use. It's not accessible certain times of the year," said Sara Gregory.
The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is asking Hoosiers who sustained damage caused by severe weather to call and report it. That includes flooding and wind damage.
The toll-free number is (866) 210-1925. It will be staffed from 8:00 a.m.to 5:00 p.m.through Friday, March 20th.
