LAFAYETTE, WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Details about this year's Dancing In The Streets festival were announced. An Elvis impersonator kicked off the event on the Pedestrian Bridge where Greater Lafayette Commerce released the plans. The festival will feature food, music, a car and motorcycle show and cruise, and plenty of other entertainment. Highlights include American Idol finalist Amanda Overmyer and Zanna Doo. Lafayette Mayor Tony Roswarski said the event is credited to overwhelming community support.
"We really are blessed to live in a community where we are able to have these festivals and year after year we are able to sustain them," he explained.
This is the 18th year for the event. Festivities begin on Saturday, July 18th from four to midnight. Advance tickets are $5 or purchase them the day of for $10. You can buy advanced tickets at AAMCO, Eagle Harley Davidson, Greater Lafayette Commerce, Guaranteed Transmission Service, IBEW Local 668, Old National Bank, and Tbird Design Service Corporation.
