LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A group of Lafayette young professionals are extending their time and effort to a local food pantry.
Tippy Connect, a group of young men and women dedicated to helping improve Lafayette businesses, has chosen to help raise funds for Food Finders Food Bank.
For the next three years they plan to help fund the Food Finders Backpack program and keep mobile food pantries stocked.
"We look at community involvement as part of professional development,” York Pollert said. “It helps to have an organization like Food Finders or like the Hanna Center and Big Brothers Big Sisters in the past, to where we can really focus our energies to where we're going to where we're going to raising our money for."
"It's really great to have a commitment from a young professional group that are going to volunteer for us and raise funds for us for three years because it helps us with our planning,” Food Finders Food Bank’s Katy Bunder said.
Over the last three years, Tippy Connect has helped the Hanna Community Center raise nearly $30,000.
