Yeager Road project wraps up a couple of months early

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Orange construction signs and cones have disappeared from part of Yeager Road in West Lafayette.

City engineers said due to the dry conditions throughout the summer, the project was completed about two and a half months ahead of schedule.

The road now has four lanes and a middle turn lane. Yeager then turns into a two-lane roundabout at the Northwestern Avenue intersection.

The finished road came just in time for Purdue's first home football game and city officials couldn't be happier.

"With all the other projects on 52 and 25 and 231 going on, this is definitely going to be a main gateway to get in and get out of town here on the north end," said Assistant Engineer, Ben Anderson.

Planting trees is the only thing left to complete on Yeager Road. Anderson said the city will wait do that in the fall.
