WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A woman was rushed to the hospital Sunday afternoon after police said she was shot inside a West Lafayette home.

West Lafayette Police said the shooting took place at the corner of Dodge and Grant streets, just a few blocks away from Mackey Arena.

According to police, the incident occurred around 2:30 Sunday afternoon. West Lafayette Patrol Captain Gary Sparger said when they arrived at the home, they found a female with a gunshot wound.

Police would not specify where the woman was shot. Sparger said she was transported to a local hospital.

"We have everybody in custody, it appears everybody who was involved was from inside the house, so the neighborhood isn't in any danger or anything of that nature," said Sparger. "We are conducting interviews right now with everyone involved."

Sparger said at this time, they are unsure of how serious the woman's injuries are.

They are not releasing her name at this time, as the investigation is ongoing.
