LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - According to Lafayette Police, a woman was arrested after fleeing the scene of a stabbing.
The stabbing took place at 2171 Ulen Ln. in Lafayette, around 4:00 Saturday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers located 20-year-old Jason Jennings with a wound to his upper left arm.
Police said the initial investigation revealed that his sister, 25-year-old Amanda Lee Bushong, was not welcome at the residence. Police said she refused to leave, and was being removed from the residence by Jennings when Bushong pulled a knife.
According to police, the altercation continued outside the residence until the injury to Jennings occurred. Bushong then fled on foot. Officers said they began checking the area for Bushong, while Jennings was transported to Saint Elizabeth Central Hospital for treatment of his injury.
After searching the area for several minutes, Bushong was located hiding in a shed in the backyard of a residence, approximately a block and a half away.
Bushong was eventually taken into custody by the Lafayette Police. A K-9 Unit from the Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Department assisted in the search for Bushong.
She was transported by ambulance to Saint Elizabeth East Hospital for treatment of the dog bite she received while being taken into custody. Bushong was later released from the hospital, and was booked in to the Tippecanoe County jail on a preliminary charge of Battery while Armed with a Deadly Weapon.
