WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - It's probably the biggest change to WLFI in 60 years: a brand new studio and high-definition equipment.
It's transformation leading WLFI into the 21st century.
"LIN media, which is our parent company, has felt that we are the local TV station here, and it's a commitment to our community that we're invested. We're here, we're not going anywhere and we are all about local media," Production and Promotions Manager Kurt Lahrman said.
We're taking that commitment to news from where you live to the next level.
"We've changed our logo to simplify it. So it's more of a multimedia platform now: We do internet, we do mobile, we do on-air, we do everything. We tried to really just update our look and how we feel and interact with the community," he said.
The new studio features sleek steel, a brand new weather center, incorporated green technology and more precise weather forecasts.
"It's a mixture of new technology, it looks good on camera, ultimately it looks good to the eye, and really it's an enhancement for viewers as they watch the news product," Lahrman said.
