WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Members of the West Lafayette Fire Department are embracing their pink side.

Along with the firefighters' pink shirts for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, they now have a pink helmet.

The helmet will be worn by a different firefighter each day of the month.

They will even wear it on emergency runs.

Firefighters said they have no problem sporting the pink on duty.

"They're very supportive with wearing our pink shirts, and our pink helmet," Firefighter Ben Jones said. "Everyone wants to get involved and help out."

The West Lafayette Firefighters also wear a special helmet during Autism Awareness Month in April.
