WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A West Lafayette park is dedicated to a long time member of the West Lafayette Parks Board.

Paula R. Woods Park is located at the corner of Lawn Avenue and Vine Street in the New Chauncey Neighborhood.

Paula Woods was a lifelong resident of the neighborhood and even took her grandchildren to that park.

"She grew up, I think, in one of these houses right across the street," Woods' son, Tim Woods said.  "We lived around the corner, and all of her grandchildren used to play in this park."

"I think that this is the perfect way to honor her contributions to the community," Woods said.

West Lafayette Mayor John Dennis spoke at the ceremony and said the city's parks are a vital part of the area's quality of life.
