LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - Even hundreds of miles away, the pain of Sunday's shooting is felt right here in the Greater Lafayette area.

Friday night, nearly 100 Greater Lafayette community members came together in honor of those who lost their life in Sunday's shooting at the Sikh temple in Milwaukee.

Community members of all ages, races and religions united on the pedestrian bridge to honor and pray for those victims.

The vigil allowed the community at large to show its support and its grief.

"I think it's important so that everyone could know the difference between sikhs and Americans and they're all the same. Theres nothing different between them," Amrit Gothra said.

The suspect killed six people before he was killed in a shootout with police.
