WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - A Navy admiral who recently took over the Pentagon's U.S. Missile Defense Agency will give a talk at Purdue University next week.

The university says Vice Admiral James Syring will deliver the Discovery Lecture at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship in Discovery Park. His talk will provide an update on ballistic missile defense. It's free and open to the public

Syring took the helm at the Missile Defense Agency in November.

While on campus, Syring will review two research projects the Missile Defense Agency has with Purdue. One of the projects is developing software that would improve the ability to manage the large volume of incoming data during an enemy attack.
