Unemployment drops statewide in September

INDIANA (WLFI) - Unemployment rates fell statewide in September, and local counties all saw the trend.

Every county in the News 18 viewing area saw jobless rates decline last month.

The largest drop was in Benton County, where the rate fell 2 percentage points, to 7.1 percent.

Tippecanoe County's rate was down to 6.4 percent unemployment in September.

The statewide rate dropped slightly, to 8.2 percent.
