MONTICELLO, Ind. (WLFI) - A White County elementary school is set to shut down after this school year after Twin Lakes School Corporation board members voted to close it.

Tuesday night, members of the school corporation voted unanimously to close Woodlawn Elementary School by the end of the 2012-2013 school year.

Planning continues to determine where those students will attend classes next year.

In our original story on the issue, Superintendent Tom Fletcher said declining student enrollment and fewer funds were partially to blame for the closure.

He also said shutting down Woodlawn will save the school corporation roughly $300,000 per year.

This story will be updated.
