TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - The Tippecanoe School Corporation will perform limited criminal background checks on all volunteers. It was one of several measures passed by the Board of Trustees Wednesday evening.
Superintendent Scott Hanback said it will come at minimal cost to the district, around $150 for the entire year to run checks on all volunteers. Decisions on excluding volunteers will be made by the principal, in cooperation with district officials.
The Trustees also passed corporation goals for the next four years.
They also passed revised boundary lines. As News 18 has reported, it affects about a combined 300 students at Klondike Elementary and Woodland Elementary.
Two TSC principals are also getting some special recognition.
Battle Ground Middle School Principal BeAnn Younker and Burnett Creek Elementary Principal Mark Pearl are the District 4 Middle School and Elementary Principals of the Year.
District 4 is a nine county area of west central Indiana.
The principal of the year in each category will be named from the 12 district winners at the Indiana Association of School Principals professional conference Sunday evening.
