LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WLFI) - A truck is in bad shape after catching fire Thursday on Veterans Memorial Parkway in Lafayette.

Crews on the scene tell News 18 the driver noticed smoke coming out of the truck while driving down the parkway near Haggerty Lane.

The driver of the truck, David Hodge, says he pulled over and got out, which is when flames started jumping out of the truck.

Hodge was not injured and Lafayette police officers directed traffic into northbound lanes of Veterans Memorial until the mess was cleared.
