TIPTON, Ind. (WLFI) - A Tipton manufacturer will soon close, laying off its entire workforce.
Steel Parts Manufacturing informed the State Department of Workforce Development Thursday that it plans to permanently close its Tipton plant by March 14.
More than 170 employees will lose their jobs.
In its notice to the state, Steel Parts says it offered to negotiate with its production and maintenance employees union to avert the plant closure.
