TIPPECANOE COUNTY. Ind. (WLFI) - A Tippecanoe County resident will be representing Indiana as a national delegate for this year's Republican National Convention.

Alan Kemper is a farmer who has been a national delegate for the Republican party since 1996. This will his fifth convention. He's been Vice Chairman for the Tippecanoe County Republican Party for eight years.

The convention runs August 27-30 in Tampa, Florida.

Kemper said he is happy with Mitt Romney as the Republican candidate for president. He's even happier Romney picked Congressman Paul Ryan from Wisconsin as his running mate.

Kemper said from past experience, he has more to worry about than Hurricane Isaac bearing down on the Sunshine State.

"I'm more worried about the anarchists and demonstrators that try to prevent us from meeting. They did that in Minneapolis. They did that in New York. I understand that they have a right to free speech but we also have a right to assemble," said Kemper.

Kemper said his daughter actually lives in Tampa. He said it will be nice to slip in a visit with her while representing Republicans from across Indiana.
