Tippecanoe County focuses on county road's upkeep at meeting

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - The Tippecanoe County Highway Department is working to protect a county road.

During Monday morning's county commissioners meeting a permit bond was approved from E&B Paving.

The company helped pave a new section of the Hoosier Heartland Highway. It's also building a plant on County Road 900 North (which was recently repaved) as work on the highway continues.

Although the county road was recently repaved, the bond ensures E&B will repave the road if it becomes ruined during highway construction.

“Very heavy trucks on a small rural road. And that's one we just resurfaced and repaired from the last project when it was completed in Tippecanoe County,” Tippecanoe County Highway Department Executive Director Opal Kuhl said. “We really want to keep it in better shape.”

This bond is for $100,000.
