TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - A three vehicle wreck in Tippecanoe County sent three people to the hospital and closed State Road 26 for about three hours Friday night.

Deputies said the wreck happened just after 8:30 Friday evening near the town of Monitor.

Investigators said a red Pontiac driven by 23-year-old Wyatt Lehnen was traveling east when it crossed the center line for an unknown reason. Lehnen's car hit another car traveling west. That car was driven by 42-year-old Alicia Jackson of Kokomo.

Lehnen's car was then hit by a Jeep traveling east. The Jeep was driven by 65-year-old Kenneth Lester of Lafayette.

Lehnen and his passenger, 20-year-old Katrina Hefferon of Lafayette, were trapped inside the vehicle. Both Wyatt and Hefferon were extricated from the car by the Buck Creek Fire Department.

Jackson was also trapped inside her vehicle, and had to be extricated. She was then transported to IU Health Arnett Hospital. Lehnen and Hefferon were both taken to St. Elizabeth East Hospital. All were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies said the investigation is ongoing, and they have yet to determine if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
