2012 Feast of the Hunters' Moon releases attendance numbers

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) - It's good news for the 2012 Feast of the Hunters' Moon organizers. This year's attendance is the best they've seen in at least six years.

They reached the official attendance number Tuesday. That number is 44,145. It's up nearly 10,000 people from last year.

Members of the Tippecanoe County Historical Association do not give guesses as to how many people attended. They count each individual ticket.

"We feel pretty comfortable [with the number]," Executive Director of the TCHA Kathy Atwell said. "We include the special kids day on Thursday, and the school day on Friday in the count."

Organizers also collaborate with Feast vendors as well to figure out exact sales. That will be done at a later date.
