Tentative deal struck between C&D Technologies and union workers

ATTICA, Ind. (WLFI) - After weeks of tension, union workers with C&D Technologies in Attica have struck a tentative labor agreement with the company.

Negotiations were successful this weekend after C&D made what it called its "best and final" offer.

According to Roger Deal, regional director for the IUECWA, 10 percent of workers will receive a modest pay increase and some language regarding layoffs has also been changed.

However, the union was unable to negotiate with insurance premiums, a main bone of contention with employees.

The union will vote Tuesday on the changes, and the union committee has recommended that they ratify it.
