BATTLE GROUND, Ind. (WLFI) - This year's Walk for Wolves event will mark the fourth year for the park's biggest fundraiser.

Money raised by participants helps care for wolves, bison and fox at the park during winter months.

Director of Development Denise Pearson said about 250 people have already signed up for the walk. Pearson said participants can sign up in groups of five to form a "pack."

The walk has 52 corporate sponsors this year helping with the event.

Pearson said there will be lots of fun events for the family at the walk Sept. 15.

"In fact once in a while they'll take the wolf pup, like there is this year, and bring them out through the crowds to actually get an up-close experience with them," Pearson said.

Bison Financial will be providing lunch for participants this year.

Bison representative Valinda McBride said she's excited to see the bison.

"We're excited to be out here, to be around the wolves and to be around the bison, and to be around an organization that works for the preservation of such species," McBride said.

Registration for a "pack" of five participants is $50. Individual tickets are also available.

Head to Wolf Park's website if you'd like more information on the walk and want to know more about how to sign up.
